In order to make these trips a success Koru Care holds or participates in events throughout the year, live stage shows, online auctions, online fundriaisng  and much more.

Each year Koru Care’s principle sponsor Southern Stars Charitable Trust stages a children’s pantomime under its K.I.S.S programme, tickets to these shows help Koru Care with trip costs, while at the same time give other children the opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre.

Koru Care receive offers of products and services from businesses, these items are generally auctioned on TradeMe to help fund the trips. Other items are retained for other auctions and events.

Koru Care actively seeks support from the community and has a fundriaisng and a donations page which enables supporters to donate directly toward the cost of the trips.

Ann Bain who has been the Chairperson of Koru Care Charitable Trust for 15 year was named in the 2010 New Years Honours List and received her QSM at a formal function at Government House in April.

After steering Koru Care Charitable Trust for so many years with little acknowledgement or fanfare we are pleased to announced that she has been recognised in the New Years Honours List for her tireless work in helping ensure that the children who take part in the annual Koru Care trips to Disneyland and the Gold Coast are the success they are. We are very proud of Ann who was very deserving of this award for her service to children.
